How I work

Bid and tender strategy for your key pursuits

I work with T2 civil, utility and infrastructure contractors across Australia on the tenders they REALLY can't afford to lose... the key pursuits your directors ask about every Monday morning.

Your team keeps running the submission, and I bring dedicated, senior strategic thinking to how you position it, for a small number of contractors at a time.

3 ways to work together

Start small, or bring me in for the year

Whichever you choose, your team gets clearer strategy, stronger proof and submissions that tell the same story from the executive summary to the very last schedule.

Starts with a 6 month partnership

Bid strategy and positioning retainer

Your key pursuits get a direction before anyone opens a Word document, and your team gets someone in their corner every week, challenging the claims and carrying the same story through every schedule.

  • A strategy brief and win themes written for each pursuit and each client.
  • A message map across the whole submission, so every schedule tells the same story.
  • Competitive positioning that frames your strengths around the risks this client cares about, without naming or knocking anyone.
  • Up to 4 of your agreed responses developed each month, from the executive summary to people, value add, ESG, First Nations, experience or methodology.
  • Your key people and case studies matched to each win theme.
  • A strategic review of your named responses before lodgement, and debrief questions after every outcome.
  • A weekly strategy call on Zoom, a monthly pipeline review and a monthly checklist of what was done and what's next.

Up to 2 active pursuits at a time, and I only work with a small number of contractors.

1 pursuit, 1 session

Key Pursuit Strategy Session

  • I review the opportunity and tender documents before we meet.
  • 2.5 hours on Zoom with your bid team, BD lead and estimators, agreeing win themes, proof, competitors and nominations.
  • A 1 page strategy summary within 3 business days.

If you go on to a retainer within 30 days, the session fee comes off your first month.

A low risk first step

Bid review

  • A close look at a recent submission, ideally one you lost, so there's no deadline pressure.
  • A clear read of where the marks went and what to change before the next one is released.
  • Live tenders need to reach me at least 5 business days before lodgement.
Who does what

Where my work stops and your team's starts

Every retainer has a clear scope, so you always know what's included, what stays with your team and what's quoted as its own project.

I lead

  • Pursuit and bid strategy.
  • Win themes and competitive positioning.
  • The message map across the submission.
  • Drafting your agreed responses.
  • A strategic review of your named responses.

Your team owns

  • Bid management, programme and compliance.
  • Technical methodology and pricing.
  • SME access, project facts and approvals.
  • Commercial, legal and safety commitments, final sign off and lodgement.

Quoted separately

  • Full submission writing, with the strategy built in.
  • Branded InDesign tender templates, InDesign production and Adobe CC bid libraries.
  • Extra responses beyond your monthly allowance.

Fully remote, Australia wide

All of my work is delivered remotely over Zoom and email, so it doesn't matter where your office or your projects are. I prepare and debrief your team online, and your team keeps full control of every upload, lodgement and RFI.

I only work with a small number of contractors at a time, because your pursuits deserve my full focus.
